Sector Study on the IT/ITES/BPO/Freelance Online Outsourcing is an integral part of "Leveraging Information and Communications Technologies (lCT) for Growth, Employment and Governance Project”. This study would support the client for setting up a dedicated IT/ITES unit (Unit), Developing an industry development plan and roadmap, providing expert guidance to the Unit.
Conducting systematic review of the existing Information, preparing initial documents and checklists, preparing primary list of IT/ITES firms Training Institutes, Trainers, preparing initial list of universities offering required courses in the first fold of activities. These tasks would be based on desk research, part of the KIIs, secondary information sources. Screening/Validating the initial lists, documents, secondary data also fall under the first fold (F-1) of activities. In fact, these activities are required due to unavailability of established (certified by GoB) data of this new industry, which is under construction in terms of official (GoB monitoring) records of entrepreneurs, freelancers, small business entities, part-timers, etc. In reality, we assume, their small two-three digit dollar earnings sums to a considerable contribution to the Export revenue by ITES/BPO/online- outsourcing.
